More Masculinity

Another posting that may shed some more light on this post:

"John Piper on Men in Ministry, and the Masculinity of Christianity"

Everyone keeps blogging way better than I can on this point, but hopefully I'll have the chance to post some original content soon.

  1. Read the article and some of the comments and am starting to see more of the issue. Still forming my own thoughts and look forward to reading yours. I have to say that, although, I believe that Piper took it way to far and I don't agree with his claim of a "masculine Christianity", I think I am seeing how one's views on male/female roles in the family and church play into how one might view this. As much as I have changed my views on a lot of things I am still pretty complimentarian -with no restlessness at all in that view. I really noticed that theme, though- especially as people responded in the comments. Look forward to seeing what you have to say:)

  2. If you're not restless in your view, that's fine. It's not my intent to make someone restless where they were content before. It's more that I'm working through my own restless and finding that my discontent isn't rebellion, and it might even be good theology.

  4. Anything specific? I posted these other blogs because they pretty much *were* my thoughts on the subject, only better written and with more research than I can manage.
